headlight wont close all of the way

the left headlight on my 88 TII wont close fully. it stays open just a crack. i inspected the headlight rods, inspected the bucket itself for any bends, warping or accident damage and found none. what else should i look for to make the light fully close?

as a note, the factory body sealant is untouched on the rear of the headlight bucket, which tells me that teh headlight bucket has not been removed. i dont know if that'll help, but its worth a shot.

Maybe try opening it up all the way with the manual ****. If its just slightly stuck on something, maybe a good up down by hand will free it up.

thank you for the advice. i did try running the light up and down manually with the battery disconnected. manually, the light stops in the same position as when its closed with either switch.

mabey the rod needs to be adjusted down I had the same problem with my other car all you have to do is fined the rod where it connects to the motor arm and twist it so that the head light can go all the way down. you need to have two wrenches to do that and have the head lights up. this may or may not fix the problem.

ok sorry about the info I gave the last time I just went and looked on my car and they are not adjustible. but I think what happend is the motor just jumped on the gears on the inside of the case causeing it to not fully close. if that is true then you have to get an new head light motor.

well, does the headlight go all the way down flush with the hood, and then pop back up slightly, or does it just not go all the way down? If its the first, then the motor probably skipped a tooth. if its not, somethings not adjusted correctly (or your bumper is sagging, making the headlight look high)

the headlight does not become flush and then rise. it only goes down most of the way and does not rise up. the bumper is fine and is adjusted properly. the whole front end is aligned perfectly. the car has never been wrecked. after looking at the headlight motor and the two rods, i dont know what could be adjusted improperly.
