headlight / turn signal wiring question

Today I finished up swapping the engine harness on my S4 - S5 TII conversion. I plugged in my S5 gauges and S4 surround to test it. Surprisingly, just about everthing worked, except for the headlights and turn signals. When the lights are down and the signal switch flipped to the right, the headlights blink and the rears do nothing. With the lights up and on, nothing happens when the TS switch is flipped left or right. Also, the FTP and high beams don't work at all. I spent a while playing with connections and relays to no avail. Is the S5 gauge surround any different, or should I be busy looking for a short somewhere. Just about the whole car is wired inside except for the HVAC, idiot lights, and the center console. Sorry for the long and possibly stupid question, but I'm not very good with electrics. Any advice would be appriciated. Thanks!
