headlight switch works but does not turn on headlights?
read over the faq and didnt find any thing on this, did some searching and found a general answer for most of the problems but i just need some confirmation heres the skinny...
so i turn the head light switch (the one on the bottom on the left) and it turns all my lights on except for my headlights and it doesnt flip them up, when i hit the headlight flip up switch (the one above it) they flip up but still do not light up...im wondering if its a fuse (if so which one) or if its the headlight switch itself. help would be appreciated thnx (and sorry if this was actually in the faq and i missed it)

there is a headlight fuse in the engine bay.Not to be mixed up with the retractor motor fuse.
Seems kind of Funny though, that the Lights go on and Not up.
I'm Leaning towards a Bad Switch.

I think the problem has to lie in the switch itself. Just my humble opinion. There are ways to prove that if the elect plug is off the switch and you have a piece of wire that is bare at each end and can be jumpered b/t two of the sockets in the elect plug.

I had the same problem and replaced the switch and that fixed it but the problem for me was deeper read my headlights thread in this section. I am currently replacing a sub harness and adding in a relay while checking every bulbs connectvity. If you replace the switch do the relay up grade trust me!!!!!

If you do the switch do the relay upgrade seems to be Easy I am doing it now actually and can keep you posted if you want.
How to from the 2nd gen RX-7 technical archive for the relay:
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/heavy-duty-light-switch-operation-how-too-prevent-burnout-164931/
Relay available at radio shack, most car parts stores, most car stereo stores and my website (about half way down this page: http://www.mazdamark.com/Rebuilt%20FC%20Parts.htm ).
All this info was supplied to me by Icemark ( gotta give props to whom it is due!!)

Just go to the headlight relay. Get a piece of wire bare at each end. One end in the relay base where the White wire with Blue stripe is. Then ground the other end of that new wire. Headlights will come on if the fuse is really good. No key required. No turning of the headlight switch. Just gnd the W/L wire. See diagram in my last post.
