Headlight Problem

Ok so I have a slight issue with my drivers side headlight. Functionality wise they are fine, the issue comes in when you turn them off. the drivers side stays up by about an inch or maybee a tad less. I can walk up and gently just push it down and it goes down fine.

Now one thing, It is missing the surround, could that have affect on it?

Is there something I can adjust?

Thanks
Greg

Stop pushing it down.

The arm that connects to the motor is just like that of the windshield wiper. The motor's mechanism that's responisble for popping it up has got teeth that mesh together with the arm. If the motor start to seize then you'll end up stripping these teeth. Its like grabbing your wind shield wiper and just moving it back and forth. Won't be long before they're stripped and the motor will turn but the wiper won't.

Underneeth the headlight motor is an adjusting **** that allows you to play with the travel. Its got a rubber boot that protects it from the environment. Remove that boot and you'll see the ****. You turn this **** to adjust it. So, It might have knocked itself out of adjustment and you simply need to re-adjust it accordingly.

Thanks for the tip on pushing it down.

I already tried adjusting the ****, it moves it very little to it snaps back to the original position.

I think it is just getting hung up soem how. I think before I bought the car is got slightly tapped by another car on that sront corner. Is there a piece that could be bent that would make it not go down all the way?

thanks
Greg

Yes there is.

if you look at the arm assembly its very possible that it could get snagged on the.....well I don't know what to call it.....the bumpers interior frame. Also the **** connector that is apart of the arm that allows it to bend like an elbow might be brushing against something inside there. Its entirely possible that if the side of the car received an impact that the motors moving parts are snagging or brushing.
