headlight disasebly

has anyone ever just taken the motor out of your headlight? My drivers side one was fried so I got one of a parts car and was going to replace it with the one that is on my car but when I took it apart all these little pieces dropped out of it. Would it be easier to buy a new one rather than trying to put all the little pieces back together in there? I don't know a thing about head lights. Anyways any help would be nice. Thanks.

All the pieces that fell out were the brushes (if you took apart the actual motor). Honestly, a lot easier to just replace the assembly.
