OH Headlight Closing Noise?

I haven't really had time to diagnose this problem yet because I work a full time job and school full time. So I never really have any daylight hours. Umm this is is what's happening... I will have my headlights open right, and then when I close them the driver side headlight will make this clank noise like it's hitting a piece of metal in the instant that it closes. It's not a rubbing or anything just a pound. Has anyone else had this problem or is it normal? Thanks

Not normal.

Try taking the plastic guards out on the bottom of the car under the headlights, and see if you can see what is happening.

i have the exact same problem, i keep putting it off but i got to fix it soon. but since i don't really have someone that can be under the car while i flip the switch back and forth i just apologize to my car after turning of the lights lol.

my guess is something fell or broke in the way of the light assembly. good luck let me know what you find.

Try removing the plastic shroud from the headlight and see if that makes any difference. If not, the better access/vantage point should help assist in solving your problem.

you don't even need two people for this.
- take off the shroud on the offending side.

- disconnect battery

- take off protective boot from headlight motor manual ****

- turn manual **** until you see what it's hitting.

- fix rx7

- reassemble

- profit

you could also have a broken bushing on one of the linkage arms.
