havining a bad day with my 7
today i got stuck on the palisades pkwy.my 7 's upper rad hose came off at one end.it basically was shredded at the end wit the neck directly to the rad.it was one of those nice looking aluminum hoses with the silicone ends.coolant was every where and i pulled over a minut after but the temp shot up to the danger zone and of course the buzzer went off.i let her cool off a called wifey to go get me a new hose. well after i put in the new hose and a gallon of coolant.the bitch started buzzing again and the temp shot back up.shut her off and called a tow 200bucks oochh. i'm very scared of the consequences.do ya think i hurt my engine 16k miles on her that would hurt.why is the buzzer and temp still shootig up?some of that hose that broke into lil pieces do ya think some of it got sucked into the other end of the hose and possibly cause some serious damage.dam when it rains it pours .i've invested alot of money in herabout the only thing i havnt replaced or upgraded has been the cooling system.yeah she's 16 years old should of done but i heard that thats about the only durable part on the 7.and of course i get 2 decent offers on her at work and decided against them just beforethis **** happened. any input is appreciated .shoud i get a compression check done or will i see other immediate symptoms from my baby.

Go ahead and make sure the cooling system is burped proper. Any air in the system will fool with your guages/buzzer.
A compression test wont really help you out here. You want to get the cooling system pressure tested, after making sure all the hoses are tight and after the cooling system is filled proper. There are kits you can buy to do this yourself, but most autoparts stores I have come across will let you borrow their tools to do this and lend a helping hand.
