Have A Problem

Buddy of mine has an FC. He put a new STARTER in it. Car starts..stay running for a bit then slowly dies. Could this be the alternator? or Battery. What possible things should I check when looking at this car? I read the FAQ and didnt help that much. Please can someone help.

Well, is this problem something that is a relatively cheap/quick fix? I mean yes I know parts are costly but is this something that could be fixed easily having it be one of what $100T2 suggested.
