Hatch repair questions

Hey all,

I have 2 hatches at the moment, one has no rust but the window has small scratches that are quite noticeable. The other hatch has rust at the base but the window is mint.

Just wondering what my best option would be....

- Replace scratched glass with good glass, risk the seal looking crap

- Remove as much rust as possible, convert what ever I cant get to, paint with RustKill, fill hole with bog and seal off where ever water gets in.

Switching the glass would be easy, but I presume the other seal would look pretty crappy.

Anyways, keen for some advice, cheers.

Why not swap the good glass into the good frame (after painting it of course) and then buy a new seal from Mazda?

Trying any rust converting products is just going to end up a disappointment in a few years when it rots through.

I have a glass with the wiper hole, and already removed from the frame. If you're interested.

I'll give them a call, I have been told by them that they don't stock any trim etc any more (New Zealand) but I'll try them now.

At least in the States, the hatch seals are available. I bought one last year. I bought a lot of rubber trim and weatherstripping actually and was told quantities on all of them were fine. That could be an entirely different proposition in New Zealand though.

Not a clue.

I would been keen on that offer though so I'll try find out. How big would the package be and how heavy roughly?
