hatch light and a warning tone

hatch light and a warning tone
My hatch light comes on when i turn my car on and a light tone comes on about 5 seconds later. Does the hatch warning have a tone or is it somthign else. I know that it is not the coolant because I have heard it. It is much quieter than that.
