has anyone tried putting on the JDM stock boost gauge onto a US instrument cluster?

has anyone tried putting on the JDM stock boost gauge onto a US instrument cluster?

i have an extra JDM cluster gauge,
in which i thought it'd be cool to use the JDM stock boost gauge,
and replace the battery one.

after taking it apart, i found that the boost is connected with the oil one.
(should've looked in the factory manual to figure that out. xP)
is there a way where i could just hook it up? to the instrument cluster?
can i just place that part onto the US cluster gauge,
simply exchanging that part?
or maybe no? because the set up of the circuit board is different?

i'll probably post some pics tomorrow of what i have so far.
i don't have a camera on me right now.

if anything,
my boost would be measured in mmHG instead of PSI,
while the oil pressure's gonna be by kg/cm^2
if done so correctly.

thanks.

I dunno what you smoking, but all of them show mmHg / kg/cm2 on the boost and oil pressure guages.
All you're doing is changing the speedo to read KPH instead of MPH.

Even if J-spec boost gauges were different (and they aren't), you shouldn't even be bothering with a stock gauge when modding a turbo engine.

yea, NZ, you're right. my bad. no difference.
measured in mmHG.
i guess i've been smokin too, ted.
i don't plan on modding my turbo engine anytime soon.
thinkin about keeping it stock (for now)
it's running pretty strong.

just wanted something neat to look at while driving.
taking advantage of this extra JDM instrument cluster
and using the stock turbo gauge, instead of lookin at my battery life.

but you guys know what i'm trying to do, right?

the battery gauge is actually more useful IMO. my boost gauge lays limp now and even before i modded my engine i rarely even looked at it but what is important is if i am having a charging issue i want to know about it before i hit a long stretch of dark roadway..

get an aftermarket boost gauge, it will tell you much more than the stock POS one anyways.

do you have a non turbo that was had a turbo II engine put in? a stock turbo car doesn't have a voltmeter, it has a boost gauge in place of the voltmeter.

You're just trying to stuff the BOOST GAUGE into your non-turbo instrument cluster?
It won't work.

=/
i guess i wont then.
i assume because both circuit boards are different, and each are made specifically for those gauges on there.

If both the gauges are Mazda OEM, then you just need to swap both the gauges there. They unbolt the volt meter and then bolt the Turbo one in, The circuit board is set up for both gauges.

But the harness you would have to check. To make sure it has the boost gauge wires. A non turbo dash harness will not have the wires
