Harness repair techniques and tools?

Can someone tell me what sort of techniques or useful tools I would need to repair my harness? I can't seem to get the pressure sensor, split air solenoid, or TPS codes to go away (although I'll confirm whether the harness is bad once I get test leads that are long enough).

If there was some sort of continuity tester that worked like a timing light that would be really useful for finding broken wires (since you could determine exactly where it broke)...

Also, how does repinning connectors work exactly? Do you need to knock the whole pin out (not just a wire), and solder the pin to the wire or something? What kind of tools do you need to do it?

IMO the hardest part of fixing a harness would be getting it off the car since you have take off the UIM to get to one of the bolts on the block (the engine ground), the primary injector plugs, the coolant temp sensor, and to get the harness free from the behind the oil filler tube...

repinning connects: cut off the old pin, get new pins and crimp them to the wire. Then I would shrink tube it if possible.

Tools: crimp tool, wire cutter, wire stripper, picks.

Where do you get the pins and what kind? There has got to be more than one kind of pin used on the harness, right?

What do you mean by picks?
