harmful effects of running w/ burned out electrodes (from ur plugs)?

Ok, i've had my car for a year, and someone had told me i only need to change my plugs and wires like once a year... i guess i drive a little more than normal, but when i changed my plugs, both leading plugs had no electrodes!! i was like holy crap, no wonder my car feels all sluggish!!

so my question is, besides the electrodes going through my engine and possibly scarring the face of a rotor or housing...(??) is there any damage that could have been done?

sorry for the newbness, i'm just barely learning how to wrench on cars

if it doesnt spark you are soaking the walls therefore possibly losing compression in that rotor.
do you still have those struts for sale?
