Question Hard or standard suspension for ....

Front brake pads?

I went to go get some front brake pads today to change my pads - and the guy asked if I had hard or standard supension. I don't know.....

I do know that we have an adjustable supension control in the center console, but the adjustable shocks don't work.....

Anyone know?

I've got an '88 GXL n/a.

GXL = hard suspension.

4 Bolt Rims = "Soft"
5 Bolt = Hard

Odd, anyway the gxl's have the same brakes as a TII so try for those pads. I'm guessing the guy thought base and turbo/gxl brakes cause they are different.

you can manually adjust your AAS with needlenose pliars. On S5's you just turn the little nub under the AAS controller counterclockwise to stiffen the shocks.

i don't know if counterclockwise works for s4's

Well, would the standard brake pads work at all? We ordered some already and pick them up in about an hour - we weren't sure. I would have thought because it's not turbo, etc... it would be standarded.

Just unplug the AAS actuators, float test them and install some KYB AGX's

Not all 5 bolts got the TII brakes... trust me, I got screwed!! no TII brakes, 5 bolt rims, and uhmm.... prolly soft suspension too...

So LOOK! (TII brakes = vented rotors all around)(oh, and 4 piston brakes up front )
