I'm looking for a Moonroof... Endlessly Rustic Steel ones are getting really depressing... I've got a nice complete spare Sunroof track & mechanism & headliner... but putting a born to fail steel sun-roof back in seems rotarded.
You Got One? I'm gonna Hope someone local would want a Steel Turbo Hood Boat Anchor... but that's unlikely even on the Best of Days...

& Now - Where the Buffalo Roam... Sponsored by Prestone Extra-Grade Starting Fluid! (Inhalation Rag Not Included!)
I was trying to Fathom how much of the Rats Nest of Bakelite-Petrified Hoses had Succumbed to the Deady Steam-Treatment of that Vile Open Slot Turbo Hood... Dreaming of the Day I can Be Done with It... I'd like to get an Upgraded ECU Baselined before I start removing & renovating extensively in the engine bay.
The line for the secondary throttle vacuum damping thing just snapped conveniently in half... along with the one-way filter valve that just fell apart at the seams... I swiped a good one from an S5 throttlebody & it didn't have No Stinkin' Filter-Valve...
I found another vacuum damping thingy up in the Hellishly Hot Boneyard Attic of Infernal Peril & had 3 to compare & they all seemed to not really do anything... I put the best one on with a good hose, but failed to see any kind of action, or effect just revvin' in the driveway opening the non-throttled secondary plates - or closed or WTF else I did to it... I just Punted on 4th Down & wired that thing open & called it a Day...
It's more than just Old Clams under that Hood... Definitely Steamed & Over-Cooked on the Exhaust Side... Even the Best Air Solenoids & one-way valves from the Boneyard are almost all Full of Fail... It's just a Design limitation of the parts... Plastic & Rubber & Condoms should be Carefully Observed for signs of Wear, Damage or Tampering... Often just Observing the Condition is enough for Complete Failure...
On the Bright Side... I got my little copper banjo bolt washers put in with out much problem & found out that Chongo had failed to remove the one-way valve still permatex'd to the old air-control valve blocking plate... There had just been a big hole where the little vaned diaphram was supposed to go... So I gave Chongo some Peanuts to throw at the Squirrels & cleaned the valve & put it back where it belongs...

Much Thanx for the Support & Help in Editing the Superfluous Drivel & Maintaining the "relevant bits".
I'm so glad to have my NA hood back on & not be some Turbo-Poser... even though there's a cover on the car. I sleep better at night & maybe that makes all the trouble somehow worth it all.
