The halftime report.

Okay, so I'm in the middle of swaping out the stock turbo in my T2 and putting in a ported stock turbo, and well... I can't get the turbo out of the car, lol. I've got all bolts off and everything (duh...) but I can't separate it far enough from the downpipe to be able to lift if off. It's quite irritating, especially because a bunch of ricers are over at my next door neighbor's house ('96 Civic LX Sedan; auto/no engine mods, '01 Prelude; auto/no engine mods, and '90something non-turbo MR2; unknown tranny/probably no engine mods) and I want to race 'em and deflate their egos a bit, but the car's not really in running condition right now.

What would you recommend for getting the turbo out? I've pushed and pulled and strained and nearly threw my back out, but it's still there and I have to wait 'till tomorrow to finish the job.

If you got the 4 nuts off the turbo->turbo manifold off and the 3 nuts from turbo->downpipe, you need to just lift the turbo straight back towards you in the direction of the fender.&nbsp If you still have the stock exhaust, it's a bear!&nbsp It's a lot easier with a lighter aftermarket exhaust, especially with downpipe and pre-silencer...

Remember, the studs are angled towards the fender.&nbsp If you need help, try and wedge a screwdriver in between to pry everything up.&nbsp The turbo is heavy at over 20lbs., and a stock exhaust doesn't help!

I pulled the downpipe completely off and took it out from below when I did it.
