Half-Bridge + Stock turbo?
Half-Bridge + Stock turbo?
I'm currently building up my arctic silver S4. It is originally N/A but I'm rebuilding it with the stock S5 turbo and manifold. Now, I could only find 1 thread on this and it wasnt very helpful so I am wondering is this possible? I mostly want the sound from the bridge but I only want around 200-250 horse and am aware a bridge is very overkill for this. Thank you for any responses
Call pineapple racing.
They’ll tell you to go with a streetport to get the overlap which will give you some brap brap, but still maintain low end drivability, and work with smaller turbos. They also sell the porting templates.
I thought the same as you ~10 years ago, except I was going to go with a big turbo for the bridgeport. I called pineapple racing and they talked me into a streetport. Ran on a stock turbo for a bit and have since been running on a panspeed hybrid turbo (similar to bnr stage 3), and it’s a fun peppy street machine.
In the end, it’s your car and your money, so do whatever you want. I just recommend building a system which will work together to give you the best outcome. Stock turbo will just be blowing hot air when combined with a bridge, nowhere near ideal. Possibly even a risk to blowing the motor with hot IAT’s…?
