H E L P ! ! !

Desperate for time, so here I go...

I am in the process of swapping out my pioneer stereo for a different one.. still pioneer. Hooked everything up fine. But now nothing will work... ?????

I think I have a short that devellopped somewhere but I have no idea where to start.

simptoms of short.. or whatever it is:

1: When I open my drivers door or the passenger door... the dome light does not come on.

2: When I try to turn on the dome light, it does not come on.

3: When synptom 1 or 2 happens, my door ajar light comes on like it should... but my clock beside it dissapears. After I shut the doors and turn off the dome light, the clock re-appears and starts back at the default of 1:00 (one o'clock).

4: My security system, which is stock, does not activate anymore. Its like its not there anymore.

5: My stereo comes on for the slightest time, just enough to see the backlight come on for a miliseconds, and does so again every second untill I unplug the power feed.

6: Symptoms 1 to 4 happen even if the stereo is completely unplugged and removed from the harness. I also re-checked all the wires and connections for the stereo many times all is good and solid.

Please help me find a cure.
Or lemme know if you have any ideas???

Seems like you have a short behind the dash by the fuse block. That happened to me and i found a power had shorted to a ground wire and fried both. Took like an hour to fix everything back there since i only took the dash out half way.

Check your room fuse, and check you ground. If 1 and 4 started after you installed the stereo, and they still happen after you remove it. That leads me to believe that you blew a fuse.
