GXL swaybars are beefier
After all of my reading on this forum, I never knew that GXL swaybars are larger in diameter than base model swaybars. They are about 3mm wider. Just wanted to let everyone know that they are wider and are a good improvement for all of us base model junkies out there.

Why would you want a bar that induces sway on your car?
I have ANTI-swaybars on mine. I don't care if it's easier to type or faster to say. You're calling it something its not. Makes you sound like an idiot to anyone who knows better.
Both the front and rear are bigger for the GXL? The stock rear one is essentially for the sake of saying the car has one. (far too small to really do anything productive)

I agree; I took mine off for the sake of weight reduction. One of the local TII owners has his stock bars laying around that I might try to talk him out of.

Do we have a crank or an eccentric shaft? The "swaybars" phenominon is a personal pet peeve of mine which is perpetuated by the tv hosts we all love to hate.
You can post whatever you want to. I served in the army to ensure you that right. But, I can also have whatever opinion I want of you for doing so...
I think it's pretty safe to say that 99% of my posts are not inflamatory in nature, as I am here to gain and spread knowledge. However, if you insist on calling something what it is not, then I might insist on correcting your error.

The wise men say that when it comes to suspension mods and tuning the car for neutral handling, the stabilizer bars are the last things to change. But if you would like to experiment with reducing body roll in corners, and perhaps also the subjective steering response, it would be worth swapping up. I put them in the same league as strut tower bars: they make a difference but it is hard to say if it is an "improvement" unless you have a lot of autox or road course seat time. I don't , so I can't say. Some racers do pretty well with no rear stablizer bar at all. Silkworm is one such forum member whose FC is so configured.

"Makes you sound like an idiot to anyone who knows better."
I did not directly call you an idiot. I implied what others think of you when you say such things. (I happen to be one of them)
My rhetorical question regarding the crank vs e-shaft was an example to shed light on something most rotory-informed would also take offense to. I know damn well we have an e-shaft.
Back on topic...
I noticed a very nice improvement to my car, even running shitty super tall sidewalled 14" tires, when I went from stock to the RB anti-sways I have in my car. Body roll drives me about as nuts as people saying "swaybars."
I've got about 1500 miles on my car with the full suspension upgrades I currently have (considering taller rims a suspension upgrade here) and have yet to fabricate my front strut bar. I think it will provide a noticable improvement, because the upper location of the strut controls camber and caster, and I'm positive they move under hard cornering loads.
Don't under estimate the benefits of improved anti-sway bars though. They rank quite high on my list of priorities. Running without a rear bar would potentialy lead to a car with massive oversteer.

The people who served to give us our right to our individual opinions were way before your time, and when in the recent future have we had to defend that right? So, how exactly, do you serve to ensure that right, which was ensured a couple hundred years ago and hasn't been challenged in quite some time?

military service
Jimmy, Von, i wanna start by saying thanks (i saw a bumper sticker today that said "thank a veteran" so it was on my mind earlier). Please dont take what im gonna say the wrong way, because i have nothing for respect for people who have served in the military (i have friends and family who are either currently serving or were veterans in the past), and also think people dont have enough appreciation at all.
but, however, i get kinda sick of people using military service as a reason why their opinions are more valuable than others in internet forums. it makes sense if youre talking weaponry, hand to hand combat, or something else that military service should make you adept at, but unless you were a mechanic in the military (you very well may have been, jimmy, this isnt aimed at you in particular, or anybody else) what does that have to do with swaybars/anti-swaybars/whatever? it's just kind of a growing pet peeve of mine when people pull that out of nowhere in an argument.
sorry, just venting

No, the guy who's crazy is the kid driving a 4 door civic dx with a double decker wing and fart can sporting "My drinking team has a racing problem" stickers who thought he could beat me tonight. I gave him a whole car length lead and a really soft launch and still was 2 feet in front of him at the 30mph sign (probably close to the 60' mark) running 92 octane gas and hauling a 300# buddy in the passenger seat. My buddy thought he'd be nice for me letting him borrow my car and give me the 92 non-oxygenated gas. The car runs like poo on that stuff.
Then the ambulance we passed must have called it in as a cop came looking for us so I dipped for the evening.
Oh yeah... I kept going and screamed past him then pulled into his lane a couple car lengths up and slowed back down.

Just so happens I was a mechanic in the Army. I used the military example as a backdrop for the statement that he can say what he wants to, not to boast my service, which I proudly served for my own reasons, not to give me superior weight in stupid online babblefests.
