gumout carb cleaner.. results.

hey guys.. i did the carb cleaner thingy! i used a can of gumout carb cleaner.. it was the only one i found that reccomends having the car running when you use it?.. anyhow i sent a spray on my TB directly then emptied the can into the suggested vacuum line on the manifold/whatever it is.. sry im new to rotaries.. well my variable intake screw is broken, so it used to idle at 1k... now its at 1200? is this a good thing? im pretty familiar with piston motors, but lack experience.. would my idle going up mean that the motors operating more efficiently.. or does it mean i fouled a sensor? the car feels alittle more responsive, but i just put cats on so it feels cut off at higher rpms.. well the car basically feels the same, i dont trust the butt dyno.
anyhow.. can anyone offer help on my idle and does anyone have a spare idle resistor?

tps would cause it, it could also be the throttle plate adjustment screws on the throttle body or a leak in the intake system. there are more factors to idle control but those are the most common ones ive had with my n/a.

In theory, you could have cleaned out a bunch of crap in and around the TB thereby allowing more air into the TB after the cleaning and giving you a higher idle. Try simply adjusting the idle speed screw...if your car can sustain a steady 750-800 rpm idle without surging or a lot of lope you should be ok.

yeh, you probably just cleaned off the black gunk that likes to accumulate in or near the throttle plates' opening at idle, so you'll be back to the original flow parameters in the TB now...check the TPS voltage output at warm idle, if it's good then tweak the idle adjust screw...
