guage light quit?

guage light quit?
I was driving home from putting my new exhaust on and my gauge cluster went out!! It flickerd then just died, then i smelled an electrical burning type smell. Any idea?

Damage any wiring "down there" when installing the new exhaust? Was welding involved?
Check your wiring that runs near the bottom of the car, and has something to do with the cluster, such as the oil level switch, oil pressure sender, etc...
Also check your 7.5A "meter" fuse, which also powers the alternator warning light relay (CPU), the back-up lights, the warning lights panel, and the factory alarm, among other things...

thats gotta be it, cause then no lights showed when i put on my hand brake. thansk man, i will look at that in the morning. And no there was no welding or anything like that involvede
