gtus and t2 transmisson

alright guys..i have tried searching for this already and nothing came up. i remember seeing somthing like this posted awhile ago but found nothing.. it is kinda of dumb but im hoping you guys can help

i have a worn out 88t2 tranny and a spare 89gtus tranny.. curious if i can use the gtus on the t2 motor instead of the 88t2.. i've heard some people say its possible and some says no.?!?! so im kinda of in the middle thinking back and fourth.. hopfully you guys can help me out here.. and if i can or not whats the diffrenences between the two?. thanks. anything is very much appericated.

only if you used the NA flywheel and clutch assembly i think. but you might as well find a good TII tranny...better off...

no. The NA and TII tranny are interchangeable but if you'll be using the NA on your TII, you will have to fab a spacer or custom driveshaft to fit into your diff. Also, the NA tranny isn't very strong to withstand TII power.

hmm.. i see.. i can understand that. their driveshaft are a bit diffrent in length and weight even though they do kinda of look the same.. the na and the t2 fly is diffrent too though.. but thanks, for the infomation guys..

They're different lengths, the yolk is also different as is the flange on the end. Also the starter/slave cylinder/flywheel/pressure plate are also different.
