yea, in comparison to your best times before a you've got a .5 sec improvement...you should expect another 10-12 on the top end when you dyno the car again compared to the 140 run you made before. the car has better times in it but it's all about dropping those 60 ft's and drag racing some more. But like Kevin said, it's rough on the car (particularly the drivetrain) and his ride is realy setup as a balanced sports car, not a dragger. Nice improvements over the last times though, good job. I'd like to see Kevin's car running with Kevin Landers 6 port porting job, a microtech and ported IM manfolds

hehe kevin's car just seems like a great contender for the ultimate NA...low miles, immaculate and balanced. He seems very resiliant to the boost-bug. Maybe a ride in Dana's conversion will change his mind

Thanks fellas! I actually had a good time last night given how many runs I got. The biggest problem I had last night was launching.
There's a funny thing at the drag strip...it's called VHT. Traction compound. Your street launch will /not/ work at the dragstrip...I found out. I had to launch higher and harder...I would get a tiny bit of wheel hop then hook up.
With the six ports wired and new exhaust, getting a good holeshot with a soggy bottom end was pretty hard. I would either bog it then wait until it caught up (The first 2 runs) or launch it hard...get one or more baby hops then go. I still never felt like I got the "perfect" launch.
Anyways, I dug up my old "best timeslip" to compare with my new one. My 60' time is better on the old one!! *chuckle*
Old:
Reaction: .560
60': 2.261
Time: 16.010
Speed: 87.647
New:
Reaction: .543
60' 2.312
Time: 15.782
Speed: 89.211
Looks like I picked up 2 MPH and lost .3 seconds. You guys will have to tell me what that means!

that means you were just launching beter last time but yuor car has more power this time. wheel hop kills the 60 ft time, do you have polyurethane bushings in the car? a rear strut tower bar helps a lot with wheel hop (I have a cusco ready to go at 159 shipped if you want it).

Jon - No poly in the back...I hear that's a challenge to get those little PU bastards in there. I was thinking about the Cusco rear strut bar...but I have this "thing" about taking a 2" holesaw to the GTUs. *grin* If it becomes an issue I might do it if really necessary.

hehe understood. the poly bushings came out pretty easily in my car, i think it was only a 4 hour job for the master kit install from energy, start to finish. a torch is necessary though to get those old bushings out and wear some crappy clothes bc you will ruin them I'm sure you and Dana could do this without problems... About the rear bar, yea I hear you in cutting up the car. My holes aren't perfect even so I'm buying some vinyl to match the gray of the carpet and I'll simple cut out 2 perfect circles (small) and hot-glue them to cover the holes and make it all look fairly factory - the trick is to cut the hole in the vinyl as TIGHT as possible to make it flush to the bar Dana's came out nicely if I remember (the bar I have is aluminum anyway, I think you'd opt for the carbon fiber on your petite GTUs hehe Any other takers for the bar let me know, still have a front and rear cusco for the FC brand new at the shop 159 shipped in the US. PM me...I have yet to install the V-brace in the rear and the lower arm bar, weather here has been less than stellar.

It would be nice to see a Cusco carbon rear bar in his car. It would be stress full day for Kevin “you SURE you measured it right” as I am taking the whole saw to his speaker tower. Hehehe

Mine was easy...measured w/ a ruler for a few minutes, made a couple marks w/ a sharpie marker get to work they only took a few minutes to make but i def. got a better shape on the second hole. I think the vinyl covers will look nice, gonna use a slightly darker gray than the carpet (match the dash).
