GTUs goes Driftin'!! Lots of Pics!!

Yo,

I recently went to the NCDA's inaugural drift event at Thunderhill Raceway.

Their website:

http://www.ncda.net/

I had a great time! I went out and got some cheapo tires for some old baloney slicer 15's I had lying around. Time to sacrifice those tires!

Props to Todd Ho who helped put on the event and to Head On Photos for taking the following spectacular shots.

Check out the Eye of the Tiger:

Smoke 'em if you got 'em!

FC's were in abundance, check out the black '91 Coupe driven by one of the instructors:

Dorifto Time!!

Still goin'...

It was a great event, I only spun out twice into the dirt! Heh.

If anyone wants bigger sizes of the photos, PM me and I can send you the original pics.

Enjoy!

Kevin

Sweet! Man I drifted once in a parking lot with my buddy and his 240sx and I had my shitty *** RWD benz, i sucked *** but I had fun spinning out haha it was really easy to spin it. Do you think it was hard to do though, overall? When I get my TII I'm gonna try out drifting for sure!

Yo,

Thanks guys! Do any of you know a good GIF animation program?

I have tons of photos that I could turn into an animation of me drifting, doing donuts...

Head On Photos hooked me up!

You can use MacroMedia Flash.

Just export as animated gif.

Yo,

Yeah, the wheels are powdercoated white.

The car sat really low in the back, I was running some No-Name 195/50-15's in the back. I looked like a powerboat!

Heh.

Drifting was fun, but you really need to be in a car you are fearless in. Basically, a beater that you don't care if you hit a curb, tree, mountain with.

I was a little timid throwing my car sideways /before/ the apex...if I was in some $500 FC...I'm sure I could thrash it with reckless abandon.

If I was going to pursue drifting more seriously, I would get a beater FC, gut it, and drift that. Once I had grown comfortable with my skill set, then I would throw the shiny red one around. *grin*

Thanks to all for the props!

I can't wait till I get to take my car out of the garage and haul it to the track, it's been sitting so long! (I did manage to get most of the work done on it though, just a few more things to go!) Gotta love the GTUs, even if it is red...
