Gtech'd my car... how do these numbers sound?

Using a gtech i ran 0-60 in 8.7 sec, and it showed the horsepower at 99 -with the weight input at 2760 lbs.

This is in an 86 na with a bonez high flow cat, and all(i think) engine components working correctly.. How does this sound to u guys?

what model?

An 86 n/a base model weighs 2625 stock. You removed 3 cats and replaced it with one lighter one... Stock cats weigh a TON. Make sure you figure it all in there... Of course, that will not make you run a faster 0-60, but it WILL say you have less HP =P

I have an 87 GX(SE), dynomax catback, homebuilt header and Rb pre-silencer, k&n filter, ans some minor tuning tweaks, I g-teched my car as well as another (Roshambo's GX), and used a similar weight (2700), my Gx has posted a best HP of 88, Roshambo's was 38 hp, after some tuning and getting a straight pipe in place of the cats, he's up somehwere around 76 hp now, the altitude here is close to 4000 feet, not exactly nice dense air for horsepower numbers, I have run the 0-60 and my best is 7.6 seconds in the GX, I can't rememer Roshambo's 0-60, the difference between our cars is the header though, and mine has bigger wheels which is slowing me down a tad. Sometimes I think the G-tech is almost exactly 100hp out of whack, with my mods my GX should be around 170-180, my TII shows 115-120 ont he g=tech, while my truck shows 380hp, but I know for fact its around 480 hp, there are alot of variables that can change between the g-tech installation in different cars, and different runs, like traction, incline of the road, launch and shift points, its a fun gadget, but really quite useless for tuning...Max

And the results are in...
tonight i hit 113 hp on the gtech with a weight of 2700 lbs
This sounds pretty close to what it should be... given that the gtech measures rear wheel horses, not flywheel... correct for 33% drivetrain losses and you get 169 horses... i was gonna do 30%, but the math was over my head Also, it was kinda chilly tonight, good air for racing... I agree with max though, it isnt entirely accurate.. much of it is based on shifting, launching, the road... the list goes on. I found that for max hp, it was better not to launch, but to just let out the clutch normally, then mash the gas Whats an 86 na supposed to run 0-60?

actually correction is 18% for an auto and 15% for a stick if you read the instructions for the gTech

and you should do the AFT treatment to your engine and make sure your 5&6th ports are opening.

All Ive done is strip weight, exhaust, zip tie my ports open, and the ATF thing. But almost 700lbs of crap really adds up

HEY

I put a video in my car a few weeks ago and noticed I launched right at 7.sec and hit 60 exactly at 14.sec. It was at night and car was running perfect. Yup thats 7 seconds with just a race pipe and filter. cb. Its a 89 GXL lug to. I think it was more like 7.2 sec but I launched like at 6k and didnt spin tires much. I have yokos. Anyways Now I took out air pump , ps, and sleeves / actuators and will try it agian when I fix that dam intake leak. I striped the bolts off the acv.
