i would be in but...

What would the final bumper look like.
What about the lights. Would that be included..
Would border side skirts match up to it?
A sketch mated to a 2nd gen would be nice. Looks great on a 3rd but a 2nd?

Garantee on quality??? Shipment???

I need the bumper to fit my new V-SPL
I vote C-west. And would like to replace my pop ups.

What would be the total cost...

I would have to say I would go with the Mazdaspeed GT-C, I'll let you guys know then.
Hahaha, i thought the same thing... having the same front end as 10 other dudes, but then again, there are 1,000,000 people with the same front end as me now! (stock)

I like the GT-C because of its resemblence(sp?) to the RE2000 front. And i always though 99 lights would look good...

You would be paying Chuck (rotaryextreme). He will take care of the rest.

will these downpayments be held in escrow or what?
I dont know if he does escrow, i know he does paypal though... That is insured so if that is what you are worried about... I dont think it would work with escrow, because we are paying the downpayment for him to make the mold, then the rest when the bumpers are done, soooo, the whole escrow deal wouldnt really work, cuz he needs the money first.

The final bumper would look exactly like the bumper for a 3rd gen, but will line up and mount to the 2nd gen body.

Lights will not be included, they are seperate. He sells them for $390 a pair.

I am also getting the Border side skirts, i think they will match up great.

I am trying to find someone to photoshop some pics up of the different bumpers.

They will be excellant quality, if you look at his other bumpers... They look identical to the authentic bumpers. Shipping would be handled by the buyer. He lines it up with a trucking company, and you pay the shipment when it gets to you... Probably $150 shipping to me and im in PA. So, figure it out to where you live... He is in CA

I was actually wanting the Knightsport Kit but since Rxecret said it was 750 for bumper 640 for shipping, and i get no dealer discount, screw that.

I am ready to drop down money however i am kinda skeptical b/c it sounds like it would be kinda ****** rigged to make it fit our cars. And i am just wondering how different its going to be with the downslope of the third gen nose compared to ours. I really would like an idea of what its going to be like. cause i am getting ready to order the Corksport Type II kit...

However i am kinda fond of the GTC and C-West kits...

Chuck is very good with fiberglass and i am not worried at all in the quality of the bumper, i think after he molds it to the shape of the second gen, you would not see a change in the pitch, everything will still flow together and look like it was made for the 2nd gen, its not like he is bondo'ing the gt-c front to a 2nd gen, and presto! there you have it. It is only the center lower part that gets used... I assume he will cut it just above the 99 lights and mold from there...

I am not too good with photoshop so if any of you can do a better job, please post some pictures here to help out your fellow 2nd RX-7 owners.

new pic for GTC style with stock signal lights

I made another photo of the GTC using the stock signal light. Let me know what you guys think. I think making the GTC one for the 2nd gen will be the best choice. Now you guys have to decide between using the 99 combo lights or keep your stock signal lights. Don't forget, the 99 combo lights are $390 each pair.

BTW, I just want you guys to know it's only the beginning. If this group buy goes smoothly and everyone commits, don't be surprised that sideskirts and rear bumper replacement will come out in the next few months for you 2nd gen people. Show me some commitment so I can get this thing going ASAP. So now we are pretty much set on the GTC style bumper for the 2nd gen since it has the most votes. Let's decide on the signal light choice now. If there are 10 people to commit for each choice, both styles will be offered but I will have the one which has the most interest made first. Post here for the signal light choice and don't forget to take the poll. Thanks.

I am in.

Count me in, with some conditions

So it's $250 up front, $250+shipping after it's done. Am I going to be able to get photos of the piece before I send the second half? What happens if I don't like it (for whatever reason - quality, looks, fitment, who knows)? How much of my initial D-posit (har-dee-har-har) will I get back?

I would really like the stock turn signals, simply because the 99-specs are $400/pair. That's rediculous... all told, they'd come to 2/5ths the price of the whole thing - for turn signals! I'd only be willing to pay ~$100 extra for the signals.

What I'd like to see is the same curves, though. Like, make a mold of the bumper with the 99-spec lights, and then reverse-engineer the stocks onto those curves. Forget cutting the GT-C bumper below the lights. If he did, he'd end up molding half the frickin' bumper. If done well, it'll look nice and not cost an arm and a leg (which is what we're going for, right?).

So, in a nutshell: I'm in for a GT-C with stock signals (or REALLY cheap 99-specs/facsimiles).

Brandon
4 days and counting.

I like the original......

lights, they look good, it would also give you some leway, if you wanted to do custom lights or covers.

The 99 lights are not worth the money... in my opinion.

For me to get those lights it would cost me.. 800 + canadian.

thanks for hearing me out.

I want the GTC front end with the 99 turn signals not the 86-91. I think that front end with a TII hood looks fat FAT FATFAT . Chuck just let me know what is expected from me and how it needs to be done. I have been waiting for this for quite a long time.

Later,
Dave
