ground wire under trailing coil

ok I was checking grounds under my trailing coil and came across this wire that bolts to the lower part of the coil mount and to the shock tower. I checked the continuity of it and it seems to be bad. what's weird is that it has a little black box attatched to it. could that wire be a problem for the car not starting? what is this part called and where could I get a new one. or could I bypass the little black box with just a wire? ill post pics of the part in a few hrs b/c im actually on a friends mobile phone. thanx for aby help.

It's a condencer just like the one used on the oil sender unit. It should have been going to a connector attached to the black/yellow wires that feed the coil assy. The condenser itself would just be bolted to any good chassis gnd.

You'd blow the EGI fuse the first nano second the key was put to ON.

Dealer or Mazdatrix (dealer also) or any wrecking yard with a RX-7. I've one you can have for $29.99 plus shipping and handling. Pre paid.
