Looked all over FSM and can't seem to find where this ground hooks up. It's super short, so it can't go far. It's on the same run as the alternator/starter/battery harness. Possibly on the AC compressor at one time? It's an 89 T2

 

Find a 10mm hex bolt close to the chassis were the harness run

 

Starter Ground wire.

 

Goes to the long bolt that is used to hole the starter to the engine.It would be the TOP bolt of the 2 bolts used to put the starter on.
It is a NEGATIVE..or GROUND WIRE for the engine harness.
