Ground Control Parts Inventory and Installation
Ground Control Parts Inventory and Installation
I bought a used suspension (GC, KYB AGX shocks and Eibach springs) from a part-out in the forum and I had a couple of questions that I hope the Ground Control experienced folks could comment on.
I contacted GC and they sent me these instruction sheets.

Rear

I tore down and cleaned everything up. Here are shots of the fronts and one of the backs...

I see some discrepancies between the instructions and how these were originally installed.
Thanks,
Jim

- The bump stops dont appear to have been cut in half.
- The dust boots were still installed on the bump stops.
- Does GC grind up the front pieces like that?
- There seem to be way too many washers on the rears
- In the rear, are the big black rubber discs the "large washers" specified by the instructions?
- The rubber o-rings on the rears were pushed all the way down and blocked the drainage holes (lots of rust and dust packed around them) on the shocks. The illustration makes it look like the o-rings should be about halfway up and the GC sleeve should slide over it.
Thanks,
Jim

I have that exact same setup on my car. I didn't install, though. I do know for sure that you have to grind down the top of the struts (as in #3) to fit, though. The previous owner did tell me about that.
If you can't find any more info out, I can take some pics of how mine was installed.

Jim,
Congrats on your purchase, I too purchased a used set a while ago; and got them installed not too long ago.
- I didn't get any bump stops with my set, so I reused the ones that I had before the GC setup (I cut those in half).
- Ever since I erplaced the OEM struts and springs, I removed the dust boots; so that means that I am not using them on the GC setup either.
- If you are talking about the GC perches, then yes; mine are like that too.
- TheSorry I am kind of lost on that one, and my GC kit did not showed up with the aluminum Upper Rear Spring Perch...
