ground cable question

I did a battery relocation a few weeks ago. Now I am wanting to clean up the engine bay a little bit. I am starting were the battery used to be. there is some rust and dirt ect. Anyway I have the old neg cable that was on the battery grounded to a bolt up there. I was wondering were does that cable go to? I would like to reground it somewhere out of sight. thanks

I'm a little confused. You are cleaning up your engine bay and you are removing the cables that used to be there for your battery. Simply follow the cable back. It should go to your shock tower on the drivers side and then to your starter.

I'm not sure what you are trying to ask, but this may help:

sorry for the confusion. The neg battery cable is still there. I have it grounded to shock tower. I would like to ground it somewhere closer to wherever the other end is. I do believe you answered my question by saying it goes to starter. Its pretty tight space so i was having trouble folling it cause it went into a harness with other wires. Thanks for the help/

im gona revive this thread with another grounding question that pertains to the original one instead of creating a whole new thread.

I recently pulled the motor out of the car. I have been cleaning things up, removed rats nest, painted engine bay ect. I would like to relocate the ground wire that goes from starter to original neg batter term. Do I need both grounds? or can i cut the wire that goes from the shock tower to the neg battery term. Basically the wire will be Starter------>shock tower. instead of battery -------->shock tower------->chasis ground cause battery is relocated. hope that makes sense.
