Greetings from a new reader (somewhat long)

Came across this forum a couple of days ago and just wanted to say hi. This page has made me miss driving my 7 in a big way.

I have a '90 GXL with the champagne exterior/maroon interior. In the 7 yrs I've owned it, I've still only seen one other one in that color.

It has ~120K miles on it right now, and I bought in in '94 with 33K on it. About 1 1/2 years ago I decided it was time to put 'er out to pasture. I commute in heavy traffic, so I figured without major work or retirement, it would be driven into the ground.

Before going into retirement, it was relatively stock, with the exception of an HKS intake, Bonez cat, and GReddy Power Extreme exhaust. Revving to 7K RPM....mmmmmmmm.

Since the car is worth a helluva lot more to me in sentimental value, I decided not to trade it in. It is currently in a nice warm garage, all covered up waiting for me to make my millions so I can pour obscene amounts of money into it.

Last night, all I could think about was a 20b conversion with some monster turbo pushing 1000HP plus some other goodies....6-spd tranny, wide body kit, big fat rubber, maybe a nice HID conversion for the headlights....what else can I do?

Yeah, it's all a pipe dream at this point, but if I'm going to dream, I'm gonna dream big.

So, all you people out there with those cool Gen 2 (or is FC3 more appropriate on this forum), go take a ride for me and let that sucker howl.

I'm touched
I feel your pain! I don't think I could go one day without my 7!! Remember "Rotaries never die, they just fade away!" lol... Just imagine what it will feel like to drive it again though

Keep the baby there, maybe even work on getting a TII engine and tranny in there to provide a little pep. Where do you live at?

I had a 89 GXL exact same color scheme as yours. It had a 160,000 + miles on it. I traded it for a 2000 ranger...I then got a 10th anniversary TII. Shortly after the ranger got stolen. I regretted getting rid of my 89 GXL. Well just thought id share.
Hopefully your dreams will come true

Nice story. I have an '84 GSL that has pretty much been sitting in my garage with no engine for over 3 years now. Soon I hope to get it back on the road and enjoy all the attention I get from having such a unique car.
