Greddy Profec B Solenoid
OK... so last night, I thought I'd start leaning out the haltech maps under boost since the motor is now broken in... I set the boost controller to the lowest settings and on the low boost channel, and lowe and behold before i know it I hit 10 PSI by 3500 RPM... (at least the BNR stage III works!!!!)
Sooooooooooo I check the back of the control unit... everything is set right. I check the connection.. connected right... check the vac line to the controller.. not kinked.... hooked up the mighty vac on the pressure side to the controller line, give it 10 PSI and the solenoids in the box start clicking, HOWEVER, I can't get no air to go through the "IN" side...... Something is amiss
I tear the solenoid box apart and remove all the fittings and such... no leaks, no blockages... untill it tried to blow through the "IN" port on the three way junction for the "in" side.... Nuthin.... nada... zilch.... Now being that this port connects directly to the "IN" nipple on the box, it follows that no boost was getting into the control solenoids, and therefore, no boost was reaching the wastegate to operate it after the solenoids kicked on......
Apparently, this port was never made correctly in the first place because, looking down into the hole, there was a dead end at the bottom, before it reached the channel that connects the solenoids.
Modification time..... Out comes the trustry dremel and wha-la.. i got a functional three way rubber junction thingy.
Put everything back together, hooke it up, apply fresh zip ties, take er out on the raod and, BINGO..... a flat 5 PSI from 2000 to 7000, turn the low boost **** a tab and 6 psi from 2000 to 7000. Job done..
Anybody else ever get a Profec that had the solenoid rubber "t" plugged up???
NOW THEN, the moral of our story..... I bought this thing with the remote unit from some jackass on the forum who told me i was getting a great deal that he switched to a AVCR and just wanted to get rid of it.... at the time, i though yeah, it is a great deal.... I wondered why the unit looked almost new when he said he's used it for 6 months... fuckstain... he's goddam lucky i didn't pop my brand new rebuild or i'd be taken the truck for a ride to California to deliver an *** beating.......... If it wasn't for the front mount and the rich base map on the haltech..... god knows......... Watch your asses when buying used stuff!!!

Damm. My Profec B Spec II boosted me to 21.5 psi quicker than you can say "Zoom Zoom Boom". The english instructions I got, forgot to mention to remove all the plastic caps for external WG setup...lucky I 'read' the Japanese after, which does mention it.
