Got my T2 motor- need help-bov and ecu

Hey I just got my engine and everything seems to be A OK. But I have a few questions....

My up pipe, I believe(where the BOV connects to), is not stock it has a metal flange that 90's up, the flange is oval with to bolt holes(threaded) the numbers on it are BVS 01010- I took pictures but dont know how to post em' any help on that?

My ecu came with a black box bolted on the right side- say mitsubishi and denso on it I didnt right down the #'s- what is it?

And finally I need a knock control box if anyone know where I can get one- and I know it goes under the dash but could someone give me a more specifics- what it looks like and where it goes?

Thanks for any help on curing my retardedness

your pipe with the hole... thats an aftermarket pipe. all you have to do is buy a BOV to fit it. if it has two bolt holes, it's probaly a Blitz. check ebay and other sellers here for that.

that little black box, is not functional in USDM cars. your computer is a JSPEC one. there was a thread somewhere on what that box really does. dont worry about it, you wont need it so you can just leave it there.

lastly, do you have an S4 (86-88) or an S5 (89-91)? if you have an S4... the knock control box is actually located on the motor not in the dash. Where on the block, i'm not sure but search the forums and you'll find it. if you have an S5, the knock control is actually taken care of by the ECU.

hope that helps

Greddy also uses two bolt flanges for bov's. You can get the type- rs for pretty cheap.

did you buy a package or something? if so they "should" all be the same series. if it doesnt have the black box, then it is most likely a USDM computer, either way there are no performance differences. the JDM computers are supposed to have a speed limiter but other than that they're the same. just make sure everything is the same series, and if you check the computer numbers then that should help you out too.
