Got My T2!!!!!

I finally have one of my own! an 87' T2! Thanks to forum member LLANDAR. Yes, this is my first rotary - so here is the first of my questions. The first of which is when i started it up the first time the idle fluctuted by about 250 rpms. Up and down from about 1500 to 1700-1800 rpms????? Well when i was doin some more clean up on the car i couldnt resist starting and marveling at the rotary a little more and it ran pretty smooth at about 1500 rpms. Any suggestions????

Haha, sorry...a little overly excited i guess... i just wonder why the idle would be bouncing sometimes when i crank it and smooth other times? What might cause this?
