As far as I know, the manifolds and injection are stock. Here's the picture:

In case you can't figure it out, the blue circles are where the injectors go, and the red circles are where the secondary fuel rails bolt to the uim. And yes, I can take off the uim without removing any fuel lines, but there would be nowhere for the injectors to go.
PS - the injectors are already removed

The pintle caps that cruzin performance puts on are most likely the culprit. Using OEM mazda injector grommets, you'll notice that they do not fit on the pintly cap very snug.
If possible, try and get pintle caps from MAZDA along with new injector grommets, Im sure this will fix your performance issue. Vac leaks are a real bitch on a fuel injected car, any air that is unmetered past the AFM causes real issues with the car idling/running right.

good luck.

Alrighty, I guess I'll order some new ones from mazdatrix then. Which are the injectors gromets, by the way? Im not too familiar with the terminolgy on injectors yet.
Edit: I figured it out. Would I need the both gromets, or just the lowers?

to pressure test the fuel lines with the UIM off you need to zip tie the secondary injectors to their rail to keep them from popping off. this is what you are concerned about right?

Thank you, thats all I needed to know. I know one person specifically said that the secondary fuel rail didnt bolt to the UIM, and that is what confused me. I'm gonna order some new pintle caps and maybe gromets while I'm at it.

i was unaware that the manifolds were that different .. thats my bad for sure

was never my intent to spread misinformation ...

My bad too LOL I could have sworn you were talking about turbo manifolds (even though I now see that all your posts have your sig in it). I guess I just assumed every thread about injectors is concerning a turbo (must be all those greddy 720 injector threads )

No biggie, its all straightened out now. I'll just figure out a way to keep the injectors in the fuel rail.

I think TII's have the secondary fuel rail on the LIM, N/a's have it on the UIM. Just to clarify.

So, to test if the injectors are working, you just take them out, crank and see if fuel comes out?

Anyone? I know I've heard of people doing that, but is there a better way?

Ok, I'm about to order the pintle caps and I need to know which gromets to order. Im def going to get the lower grommets, but do the uppers really matter that much for air leaks?
Edit: it was the pintle caps that were the problem. The ones he put on were about half the length of the oem ones.
