WA Got An 86 w/ Engine prob (wont start)

ok i bought an 86 n/a and the kid that owned it before me fucked it all up i guess he said that he had a 5gallon gas can full of gas well another kid i know jackes the gas can uses it in his car and fills it back up with water well the kid that owned my car being a dumbass he is didnt relize that wasnt gas and well put it in the car...

So since ive had it ive been trying to tackle the problems by myself and new with rotarys, at first it wasnt getting fuel to the engine so i replaced fuel pump and it started getting fuel but still wouldnt start umm everthing works like electric and the engine turns over just from the way it sounds it seems like theres no compresion in the engine umm i replaced the fuel filter spark plugs checked for spark i was told that a fuel rail may be out but that a somewhat reliable friend didnt look at my car but from what i told him he said that my apex seals blown so would anyone have any advice for my sittuation? and any way to check to see if the apex is out?

Pull the plugs! Do they smell like gas?

IF so then the motor may have no comp. That doesn't always mean the motor is bad. If you smell gas try putting a tablespoon of ATF in each sparkplug hole. Put the plugs back in and try to start the vehicle.

I'm gonna take a wild shot here and guess you've already flushed fuel system?

if you flushed the fuel system already, then the next step would be to see if the injectors are actually spraying gas.
Pull the spark plugs out and crank. If a mist that smells like gas comes out, the injectors are working.

You will know when you have no compression. Just listen to each rotor with the spark plugs out while somebody cranks it. It the pulses are even then theres compression, if theres a slight pause between pulses, you have no compression in one of faces of the rotor. If you hear no pulses at all then try the atf trick or something similiar.
