you will want to do the 5 speed swap, unless of course you want to keep that peice of crap automatic tranny, if you do a search you will find tons of info on the swap. I have done it myself and was not that difficult

assuming it has no rust or other problems either, I'd say yea thats a decent price, however i wouldn't buy it for the sheer fact it's an auto

Let's say one thing. We buy RX-7's for the engine. Not that transmission it has. I would buy it. Who cares if is automatic?

i dunno, sounds a tad high... I paid 1600 for my 90 GTU auto with very minor front-end damage (literal fender-bender). Two auto trannies, and a 5spd later, and I've go alot of money in it :P

ok well hm I really think 2400 is a good price just because you got yours at 1600 doesent mean 2400 is bad for this one. You didnt mention the mileage and condition???

Just do this. Go drive the car. If you enjoy driving it, then buy it. Be sure to do an engine check, check the oil, check the coolant levels, and see if is has a funny smell after running it for a while.

You buy a RX-7 for the engine, not the transmission for **** sake. Just don't listen to them. I seriously would take about 2300 bucks with me, and take it for a spin, and if I liked it, I would buy it. That is how I bought my 88 N/A. She drives like a charm, and mine has 110000 more miles than what the one you want has.

Good luck with the buy. And if you buy it, it is an addiction.

sounds ok to me except i hate that auto tranny with a passion, it robs performance sooo much, a stick vs auto rx-7 is like nite and day difference

im not into the performance aspect of an rx7 since even the manuals are slow. Like somone said its how it drives and how I like the feel of everything. Now after the engine blows I will rebuild with a street port and what not and swap trannies only then

I'd say go for it (I'll kill you for saying they're slow though von )...even the auto 7 is good. If I had the money I'd jump on it.

take into consideration that I drive a 3 cylinder geo metro so even the auto is fast. But im just saying if your not racing your 7 n/a then auto and manual are no difference to me. Both slow in stock-mildly moded forms in both versions auto and manual. Now with the mods in my list I dont expect many n/a cars to catch up. I even gave turbo cars a goog run
