Good idea?
Taking out Mazda air box and connecting K&N cone filter to MFO Sensor?
Also rev limited is at 8600 would switching at redline for each gear be bad for engine with a stock/NA FC
And could if I installed headers could I pass emissions by putting stock exaust back in for check?
Someone gave me advice and I trust them, jest getting second opinions

...94% correct.
An FIPK is always a good option...especially if you rout cool air to it.
Shifting at rev limit isn't a good thing all of the time. Where as I've heard red-lining your car once a day can be helpful I wouldn't suggest doing it constantly while driving. The best way to shift while racing is by staying inside you power curve. The 13B begins to loose power a ways before redline, and shifting there would drop engine speed too far into your power curve to utilize it propperly...(hard to explain, but shifting at redline makes you spend less time near your peak power rpm, which, in turn, could hinder acceleration.
When I drove my S4 daily I studied the difference in shifts, and then tried to keep the difference distributed evenly on either side of my peak power rpm while racing.
If you installed headers yet kept a reletively mild exhaust, including a high flo cat, you could probably pass emissions without swapping exhausts. But swapping them for inspections is what I always did when my N/A's exhaust was chopped.

Yep, this is what many guys do - especially California RX-7 owners. They have a straight through exhaust with no cats, and then for emissions slap their stock exhaust back on.
