400 or maybe even higher for the clear coat. The main part is to not get any gouges or deep sanding cuts in the finish so that the flat black will sit nice and flush. Flat black is definitely a color that will show imperfections. Make sure you lay down a good coat of primer and wet sand that as well. I would also advise possibly putting some kind of clear coat over the flat black. Something that is a dull finish though. Flat black really stains easily, and if you dribble a little gas on it or something, it will never come out.

Shaved badges looks damn cool. I did that to my FC and is really stealth looking. It's great too when you pull up somewhere and everyone is wide-eyed going "What is that!"

I personally don't like the look of flush door panels. I like the way it is done on Wonko's car, but I think that is because the graphics distract you from it. I remember seeing a red FC with no mouldings and it looked awful. Despite what people think, those really serve to break up the lines of the car and look excellent when painted to match.

If you can keep the bondo to a bare minimum you can prime over it without much trouble. You m ight want to look into an epoxy or polyester filler, instead, though...then you won't have any problems at all.

They'll be spaced back out. I agree though.

Why am I the ONLY one who likes stock wheels? Why do I get funny looks when I look at sawblades and go "oooooooooo" or at Zenki tails and go "aaaaahhhhhhh"?

to prep the wheels I just did some hand sanding with 180 grit dry
I didn't do as good as I should have. I also opted to put a coat of clear over them.

The main thing is to clean them really good and make sure there is no dust or moisture in the lip when you go to paint.

You need more than spacers, you need wider wheels. Otherwise with those fenders and stock rims, your car will look like a rollerblade.

lol, give me a little time, I'll find some rims that i think look decent and wont' break my bank, or my tuition.

Is there a way to find a rim with a backspacing such that I won't need spacers with them?

Not sure if you are running widebody fenders in the rear. If you are running stock, find an 8 or 9" wheel with around a 25mm offset. That will bring you right out to the fenders. I am running an 8" with a 35 offset and my tires are right at the fender.

Wait wait wait...you are running widebody flares in the front, stock in back, and stock wheels? I wouldn't even drive that thing like that! Put the front on, but I would keep it in storage till its done.

You mentioned going with "5% tint, nothing too dark..."
Do you realize how dark 5% is?.....pretty much any darker is solid black out.

Are you putting that bird on the hood, or on the bumper just below the hood?

Really didn't realize, what is the light tintng?

If I put the bird on the front, it will go on the hood, sqaure center about two-three inches from the front . If i put it in the back, it would be in place of the mazda or rx7 badges

I had 20 on my FC, and have 20 on my truck. I can barely see out of my truck at night, so I put 35% on the FC. It looks good, but it's not black. 5% is insanely illegal. You will have a hard time seeing out the window.
