going to look at a 1991 coupe...
hello everybody, im new to RX7's i have always liked thier looks and may have just found one to buy, its a 1991 N/A coupe for $2500, in perfect body condition with shiny paint and 18" rims.
what tools should i bring with me, i have a rust/bodyfiller detector, coolant tester, battery tester, compression tester and a lot of other crap. my first car turned out to be a POS lemon (87 mustant 5.sl0w) and im really paranoid because the RX that im goin to look at looks clean as hell but i dont want another lemon.
i know other things to check for is play in the doors, wear below the door latch, weatherstripping, carpet (wet or dry), wipers, all the lights and gauges, even tire where (low rear tread means immature driving) any cracked glass thats all i can think of, could some of you experienced RX gurus help me out and tell me common problems to look for specific to RX's and anything that would tell me just to walk away immeadiatly.
please help me out.

Search

When searching... In the "Search Options" Change it to the "2nd Generatin Specific" and you'll only get results from... you guessed it... 2ng Gen Section.
Hah.. Oh... and by the way... In the RX7 world.. there's no such thing as a lemon. They're ALL lemons

make sure you do a compression test. do a search on the forum for info on how to do this. A MUST when buying an rx-7. I wish someone would have told me. I bought mine with 10,000mi. on it and the engine was blown.

dude, you're going to look at a 13 year old car...it's not going to be perfect. if it runs decent, buy it. It's going to have problems eventually, any 13 year old car will...but if the body's straight and it runs...i'd pick it up.

Check out this page: http://fc3spro.com/TECH/h2b.html
I know all 13 year old cars have problems but definetly get a compression check done. That page I linked above is the best guide in my opinion, but Aaron's guide is pretty good too.
