going with a custom dual system I think
thinking of buying the race header from RB and have the local muff shop put some pipes in there to make it a true dual
just curious though since the muff shop doesn't really do that great of a job and bending since they use the old crush bend method were you get the wrinkles in the piping. I was curious if anyone knows a I place I can pick some bent pipes that will work without the wrinkles.
also going with a muff thinking of the N1's but I am running with an N/A would I cause any problems using the Turbo muffs instead
it would be about 2.5 inch vs 3.5 inches. I am sure it would be a lot louder with the 3.5 but oh well
and I am not sure if I want to use presilencers yet.
any ideas would be welcome here
oh yeah I am wanting to go turbo conversion next year though

I am doing the same thing you are. I think you have an 87 is that right? Then you have to worry about the 5th & 6th ports opening. My solution is I bought the modified header from www.mazdatrix.com that opens the 6 ports by itself. I am looking at N1s as well but am not sure. I want 3.5" tips preferrably. Nothing too big, but alot bigger than my stock ones. I am thinking of getting the presilencers as well. If you get ahold of mazdatrix they seel everything you need to make a true-dual setup. You can just get other mufflers and attach them to their piping they sell.

oh yeah dont know if I am going to keep the six ports
might be removing them instead of tying them open or something
might keep them for a while but I think that mindtrain has a header that has this mod done that willl open the six ports
also if I use this header that was modded I dont need the AVC or airpump right?
not like I have cats anywhoo

No don't think you need the airpump or ACV. I am going to remove it too. They sell a blockoff plate from racingbeat.com for like $8 or something that I am going to get. I think the mind train header has a port actuation, but I know the one I bought does & it was $200 so you know.

I'm also going dual. I get my Racing beat dual outlet headers on Friday. Got a deal from a forum member for $95 including shipping. Not bad. I won't be going on for awhile though. I'm not sure if I'm going to be using presilencers or not.

Ya I am not sure about the presilencers either. Who wants to be the first one to try it without them? I want it kind of loud, but a good loud. Not a weed-eater. Think I might save up and get everything except the muffler from the mazdatrix true-dual setup. Will still end up saving about $500.
