Going 60 mph... in reverse?

Ok, so I change my clutch this past weekend, put it all back together, it ran with np. I also gutted my pre-cat while I had it off. Sooo, I was driving last night and noticed that when I shifted there was a flicker of light behind me, but no noise. I assumed I popped the famous rx7 fireball and left it at that, then when I was driving home, I noticed the flicker again, but this time it flickered and stayed there for well over 2 minutes. I got home and checked to make sure I hadn't melted my bumper and all was well... Tonight I had my g/f follow me and I duplicated the circumstances. Got to 3k in 4th and shifted into 5th and accelerated to 60. I saw the flicker, I called her cell and she's busting up laughing.... My reverse lights are on.

So my question for you is, just what did I do wrong when putting my transmission back in?

Thats the thing. When I was down there everything seemed to hook up just right, I plugged everything where it came from. That bolt that has the wires coming out of it, will that read differently depending on the possition of the bolt?

Nope, its a momentary switch, a lot of times they are no good and the wires break off. You take it out and do a continuity test on it to make sure its good.

IIRC, the 5th switch and reverse lights wires have the same connectors so it's easy to mix them up. Switch them around and go drive.
