God i love jspecs

well found out yesterday the jspec i just put into my TII has a blown coolant seal. noticed it was overheating and it no longer had any coolant in the radiator interesting!!!! also smokes so bad you can barely see my car when i come to stop after i get my FD back from judge ito. i'm gonna have him pull the engine and rebuild and port it. was hoping to have this running 100% already but oh well. that's what i get for trying to be cheap and put in a used engine

D-oh, that sucks, I always wonder why people buy those, but I guess 800 bucks for a motor you can't go wrong in rolling the dice.

Oh well, Ito will just have to Bridge port the TII!! hehehe use the FD as the "daily" driver

well my old engine was jacked. hopefully internally this one isn't too bad. hopefully none of the hard parts are bad but it will probably still need a new side housing. ito's big street ports make enough power for me

for a grand you get a motor that SHOULD run for a while, and even if it doesn't, you just got yourself a buttload of parts that you could part out and sell individually for almost what you paid for it..

I mean, rotor housings, side housings, injectors, turbo, intercooler, OMP, and in my case a transmission.

The place I got my J-Spec has a 30 day warranty, and I needed it since the oil seals were bad. The motor was a screamer, but it smoked like a bitch. So it was sent back and he didn't have another one, but he refunded the money, and another supplier had to be used with only a start-up warranty. This one seems to be ok so far.

Were did you purchase the jspec? I was thinking, when the time comes, to pick up a jspec instead of a rebuild. Seems like there are good and bad stories about the jspec...

Its just funny that a high mileage worn out motor that came in a car that you didn't pay **** for lasted as long as it did, and one you paid more money for and went through the trouble of swapping in is fucked up off the bat. Sounds like something that would happen to me

Hey if you really want to sell me an 89+ turbine (exhaust) housing then Im all for it. let me know the condition and how much you want for it. If you want i can swap you with mine if you want. mine only has a small leak. Im sure a lot of S4 people would like your turbo even if it has a small leak.
