Question Go some more questions...

Been hunting archives all day and I', left pretty vague on some things...
I'm having a rebuilt engine put into my N/A S5...

I was wondering about a fuel fuel cut gadget on the S5 cars...I've read some threads on fuel cuts but all pretained to TIIs only...is this thingy on the N/As as well...can it be removed...is it the same process as a TII?

Something else...I have driven an S4 for about 4 years but never really raced it...just drove. Recently I've started racing and really beating on the car. When I get my S5 in running order how fast is too fast for the engine to rev? If I push it for all it's worth from time to time will I damage it? I've been pulling change out of sofa cushions and selling my body to science and not eaten, drank, or slept in six months so I could get the work done I wanted to, I don't wanna break right after I get it going.

Also...I do tend to drive hard...so what's a good break in routine for me?

thnx

Fuel cut ) - only pertains to Turbo cars

Reving the engine) - occasional track/street racing wont hurt it. In normal traffic I rev 1st pretty good (4500-5000 rpms) and the remaining gears around 4200 rpms. I usually rev it once to 7200 rpms on a daily basis (8000rpm redline).

Driving hard) - if you really do drive it hard ALLOT then you might consider using only premix and blocking off the Oil Metering Pump. Also switch to Redline synthetic for the transmission & rear differential. Those who race NAs do strenghten a few of the internals a bit. If you rebuild the engine anytime soon you might consider doing some strengthening & a mild streetport.

Also "slamming it" into gear all the time wouldn't be a good idea.

If your having a rebuilt put in, you need to follow the basic breakin period suggested by most rebuilders.

For instance:

Install motor.
Run for 500 miles not going over 4K.
Change oil.
Run for 1000 miles not going over 5K
Change oil.
Goto 1500 miles change oil again...
Free rev.
