Glowing red turbo+ DP... normal?

I notice that my whole turbo and DP are glowing red at nighttime, even after a short drive, maybe 10 mins. Not really boosting too hard at all, i check under my hood and its very hot and glowing.

I know that beating on the car and boosting alot will do this, or is this just a normal occurance of having a turbo?

do you have a stock dp and stock exhaust system? cuz it could mean your cats are clogged or theres something in your exhaust system clogging it. it caused my buddys car's exhaust manifold to glow bright red. and he had like a mouse or some **** in there. just a thought. or maybe 7.0 is right about the *****. oh well.

I have this exact same problem with my FC. And its not the exhaust system. I have 3" Turbo back Racing Beat Exhaust. I put her on the dyno and the wideband o2 and she was only leaning out at 6000rpm. so the car runs fine, it just glows...

I can only assume it's because we don't have heads and stuff for the exhaust tog go through and that's why it get's so hot.

Timing is slightly retarded, about 2-3 degrees from TDC (just to oppose any slight detonation problems ive been having on hot days).

I have no cats, just a Bonez race pipe system, 2.5" DP and 3" main cat replacement. Stock Y-pipe and mufflers though

Anytime you go for a "spirited" drive, then pop your hood, your turbo will be glowing. Mine does it, and just about everyone else's does it.

Drive normally without boosting, the stop and look for glow. If it glows, under those conditions, you have a problem.
