I know is a long shot, but have you try your luck with an open exhaust? I mean just the header or the header and presilencer.

It must suck to be in your shoes at this moment!

I feel your pain. I went through the same frustrations. I'm sorry we couldn't help more, but you're doing the right thing. At least there they can hook it up to the diagniostic computers, and get pointed in the right direction. You can either spend days/weeks/months fiddling around your self, or just let someone else with the proper equipment do the work in a few days. I just hope that the Braves tickets aren't too expensive, 'cause mechanics aren't cheap! Let us know what it was,

Nick

He has the stainless steel header merging in to a single pipe that is connected to an Apex N1 single. That is pretty free flowing and I might add it sounded good the last time I heard it. Lucky me I got the engine that use to be in the car thanks to Carmon. U da man!

N/A primary and secondary injectors are the same. If he has the original secondaries then those should be placed in the primary position. Put the 550's in the secondary spot and see how it runs. I had bad primaries and my exhaust would turn red hot within minutes at idle.

Update.. Possible problem found.

On Friday I made the 180 drive to Mazcare with the evil RX-7 in tow. It seemed that every citizen of Atlanta wreck their car on I-75 because it took me nearly an hour to make it the last 20 miles to the Mazcare shop. And to make things worse I did not get to hit the Braves game because of obligations in Birmingham on Saturday.

This morning I got a call from Charlie at Mazcare. He said he checked for vacuum leaks and found a few of them. It sort of shocks me he found any at all because of how sold the idle was. But the major ones he found were around the bolts I used to plug up the oil injector ports on the block. I know I used thread locker on those bolts but apparently that does not make them air tight. He will fix that with some teflon and a crush washer. He also mentioned he will replace the gasket going to the EGR block off plate. He was confident these leaks were large enough to cause my problems.

I had looked for vacuum leaks using the brake fluid method and did not find a single one. Apparently Mazcare has a machine that will pressureize the intake system and fill it with some sort of smoke that will show every leak.

This is a big relief to me because a few hours of his time is MUCH chepaer than having to pay for a new ECU or AFM.

Maybe I can catch a Braves game when I go to pick up the car.
