gearbox wiring ?

gearbox wiring ?

hi there does any one no which wires go where on a 89 turbo 2 i have 4 wires to connect two bullet style and to plastic connections and dont no how the go back. think its for 5th and reverse gear? do i have to reconnect them the same way ? or at all i think they are for some sort of limiter maybe ? please help

Its fairly simple to figure out. Like two wire might be red and two wires green. PUt your meter on OHMS and one lead to each of the red wires. Now put the shifter in fifth gear. The meter might show continuity. If it does, those two are for fifth gear. IF not, then put the meter leads on the two green wires and see if there's continuity.

IN other words two wire of the same color will have continuity in fifth and the other two wires continuity in reverse. Talking the four wires coming out of the one switch. NOT taling at all about the switch on the right side of the transmisson.

For what little it's worth: The two wires for the fifth gear get no power to them. One wire is gnd and the other goes to the ECU. The reverse does have 12v going to one wire. The switch makes and the power goes to .........the reverse lights.
