Gauge Cluster Surroung
Have an 89 convertible. The directional signal and the cruise control levers are anchored plastic posts on the back side of the gauge cluster surround. They keep breaking off. These are pieces of 30 year old plastic and more fragile than egg shells. If I buy one on eBay, it's going to have the same problem. Even if I could locate and purchase a unused one, it would still be old and fragile. I've tried repairing it with epoxy, but it's a temporary fix. How are others dealing with this problem?

Use a grinder to make them fit, and epoxy them.

Epoxy is not the most effective adhesive here, a solvent based glue like Weldon 16 is what you need. Depending on how you're doing it, following initial glue up, reinforcement can be added by making a slurry/paste of acetone and ABS shreds/chips and slathering it about.
