Gas Tank Questions?
Hey everybody,
I have an 87 TII that has some blatter issues. So I went to remove the old gas tank and I found rust inside the tank. Not chips of rust, but surface rust. I understand that moisture will build inside the tank, but I never thought I would actually see surface rust. Could this harm the gas? Would this cause some issues with my motor?
I went to the wrecking yard and had found one that was mint! When I looked inside thought, it had much less surface rust, but it still had it. Should I buy this one or replace with new? ($450.00CAN New Vs. $100.00CAN Used)
Thanks in advance

You dont want any rust in or outside the tank. I had to change my tank after it sprung a leak. Found a used tank at the junkyard that was rust free. I'd say keep looking.
