gas milage, wtf:
well with the price of gas ever increasing over here I thought I'd run a little experiment: for one entire tank of gas I'd drive the car VERY gently. Just like grandma. Shift points around 2500RPM (or less!) and never even approaching boost.
I didn't exceed 65mph the entire tank of gas, nor did I go WOT once or did the car even see above 3500RPM once.
My driving is mixed city/country since I live in a medium sized town.
Driving like the above I managed to cover 242 miles using 12.2 US gallons of gas which worked out to.... 20MPG! not that awful, I guess, factory rating for a TII is like 17/21.
So on the next tank I decided to drive the car as I always do, frequently seeing boost and redline. Same driving, if anything I might've drove in town a bit more.
I covered..... 228 miles using 12.5 gallons of gas. = 18.24MPG.
WTF!.
In conclusion: I'm never driving this car gently again.

LOL. My vert has a 16 gallon tank. Isn't your closer to 18? I did the same thing and I'm averaging only 220 to the tank. Brace yourself, it's only going to get worse as methonal creeps into our gas. With meth, you lose mpg.

dude i was driving a modified 88 na down i-35 cruising at 100 or so mph and i got close to 30 mpg. Driving nicely i get like half that. I think i need a o2 sensor and ****** a pulsation dampener and who knows what else maybe new fuel lines and a fuel filter and a fuel pump and maybe a new gas tank and probably new injectors and a new fuel rail and a standalone.

at 100mph those numbers are amazing!
the best milage I get - ever- seems to be if I cruise at 55mph with the cruise on for the WHOLE tank, I can get 300+ miles out of a tank that way easily!
I think my tank is 14 gallons/ I dunno. It's a 10AE, and I think the tank is suppossed to hold 64 liters, but I never run it dry, ever.
above 3500RPM gas milage should plummet because the ECU goes to open loop.
in my 12A powered 1st gen (which was way better on gas than any FC I've ever seen!) I'd get 30+MPG highway, but the EPA says they get 30mpg highway so maybe that's why
And funny enough, in it, the FASTER I went, the BETTER it was!
it just loved to cruse at 5000+rpm for hours at a time, that car was awesome
I've cruised at 5K in my 10AE and the gas gauge moved pretty damn fast lol

I used to go on cruises down a windy(sp?) back road near my old apartment where the are speeds pretty much always over 100, with one straight that tops out at about 135. I used to get 20-25 mpg on these runs. My injectors were clogged all to hell (i just got them cleaned an the cars not running yet) so I've just been barely getting 20 mpg highway milage. Used to, on the rare occasion where I was going a steady 70 on the highway, I could see 30 mpg. I guess keeping the injectors working really helps gas milage.
On a side note, what do you call it outside of the US? Gas kilometerage?

I am happy.. I just filled up my 86 NA, and I got 20.75 MPG on this last tank.. I've been tweaking my fuel map to get some better gas milage.. this is up.. i got 15 MPG on my stock ECU, then 17.5 on my "performance" map, and now I'm gunning for about 24 MPG.. I need to lean out my range when I'm doing about 80-90ish (which I were I spend most of my time right now)..

we still call the same "gas mileage" for these things, only difference is the units. and its "kM/L"
by the way, i can get mine for about 10kM/L with no problem.

I get like 18-20 MPG on a tank on average with my N/A FC that is if I drive smoothly.
Recently I was late for school so I was racing through the freeway and I ended up using half a tank driving only 80 miles!!! that sucked. Usually it only takes like 1/8th-1/4th of a tank
and I swear it seems like whenever I race someone I loose like 1/8 of my gas tank.
So my conclusion is that as long as you're not pushing your car, then you'll get ok gas mileage.
